Camp Ramah in the Berkshires – Rafi Yamin

The first week of camp has been overwhelming, from meeting new people from around the globe to forming friendships that will last a lifetime. I settled in very well in to my new surroundings, making Ramah my new home for the next 2 months.

The more I got to know other counselors and specialists, I knew I had made the best decision. At camp, I am responsible for the role as a lifeguard, responsible for the general safety on the lake. This entails keeping an eye on swimmers, boating, teaching children to swim and progress their confidence and skills within the lake. I formed a very close bond with my other staff members and soon realized this summer was going to be a blast!

I have settled in nicely to my new surroundings, every day provides a new challenge and the thought of no day being the same makes this experience that much more enjoyable!

I have made friends for life and cannot wait to tell all my friends at home what a wonderful experience i have had!! Role on the rest of summer 2016!!!
