Surprise Lake Camp – Jamie Goldman
I am currently in my second session of my first year at Surprise Lake Camp. After being at camp for over a month I have fully settled into camp life. From camping out overnight to playing sports in the sun all day I’m having an amazing time here.
Since arriving at camp I’ve learnt that it is possible to work all day on 5 hours sleep and still have a great day. Next week I’m going on a 3 day trip to Six Flags and Washington DC with the upper teens unit at camp. I can’t wait to go not only to see the city but also to spend time with the campers in an environment outside of camp.
SLC is unique because of how close everyone here is. The friendships I have made with people after knowing them for less than 2 months is amazing and I can’t wait for the remaining weeks of camp.
